There are innumerable ways to Quit smoking naturally . One can use herbal methods or others therapies like hypnotherapy, acupuncture etc. to get rid of the habit permanently.

The useful herbs to quit smoking are Lobelia, Plantain, Alfalfa etc. Lobelia is also known as Pukeweed or Vomitwort. This herb is thought to have an effect on the body by reducing nicotine cravings. Lobelia is contraindicated to those who easily vomit and during pregnancy. This drug should not be self administered.

Plantain is a very common herb that is found throughout North America. It is used for all sorts of external ailments and is also known to contain lot of nutrients that the body requires to rebuild from the damaging effects of cigarettes. It is also an invaluable cleanser that helps to eliminate toxins from the body.

Alfalfa is also a very nutritious herb that has an alkalizing effect on the body. Cigarettes are known to have an extremely acidic effect on the body which is balanced by this herb. It can also be taken on a regular basis and is an excellent detoxifier.

St. Johns Wort is another herb which is known to help smokers to quit smoking. Though it is reasonably safe to take this drug alone it can interfere with the effectiveness of over-the-counter drugs, antidepressants, drugs to treat HIV and AIDS, and drugs to prevent organ rejection for transplant patients and oral contraceptives.

Many people trying to quit smoking find it tough to battle the physical action of smoking. There are some herbs which are safe to smoke and can temporarily replace the physical addiction. Some herbs also act as expectorant and cleanse the mucous in the lungs. These herbs are Rosemary, Mugwort, Sage and Coltfoot.
